It\u2019s mine.<\/li>\n<li>Is that a bird on the tree?<\/li>\n<li>That person standing there is my father.<\/li>\n<li>That dog belongs to my friend.<\/li>\n<li>That girl over there is my sister.<\/li>\n<li>That car is not mine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h2><strong>These:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThese\u201d is the plural of \u201cThis\u201d and it has the same function but for plural noun.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>These boys are my brothers.<\/li>\n<li>Let me see these books.<\/li>\n<li>Can I have these flowers?<\/li>\n<li>Can you give me these pens?<\/li>\n<li>These are my friends.<\/li>\n<li>These books are all mine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h2><strong>Those:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThose\u201d is the plural of \u201cThat\u201d and it refers to many things that are far from the speaker.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Those things on the tree are birds.<\/li>\n<li>I can see those men coming to us.<\/li>\n<li>Are those my books?<\/li>\n<li>Can you see those people?<\/li>\n<li>I want to walk and see those houses.<\/li>\n<li>Can you give me those pencils?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There is an important difference here between demonstrative pronouns and demonstrative adjectives. A demonstrative pronoun is something that stands on its own like \u201cI like this\u201d. A demonstrative adjective is something that changes the meaning of the noun that comes after like \u201cI like this apple\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s do some exercises with what we have learned already.
